Great Barrier Reef is The World's Largest Collection of Coral Reefs

Great Barrier Reef is the world's largest collection of coral reefs are composed of approximately 3,000 reefs and 900 islands, stretches for 2,600 km. This reef is located in the Coral Sea, off the coast of Queensland in northeast Australia.

Most of these areas include parts of the reef is protected by the Great Barrier Reef Marine Park. Coral gardens can be seen from space and are sometimes referred to as the single largest organism in the world, was also voted as one of UNESCO World Heritage Site in 1981.
