Russia's Lake Baikal is The Deepest and Oldest Lake in The World

Lake Baikal is the deepest lake, the world's oldest, and most (in content) bargaining water on Earth. This lake contains more than 20 percent of the world's fresh water and more than 90 percent of freshwater Russia.


This lake is a world heritage site located in southern Siberia in Russia, between Irkutsk Oblast to the northwest and Buryatia on the southeast, near the city of Irkutsk. This name comes from the Tatar "Bai-Kul", meaning "rich lake". He was also known as the "Blue Eye of Siberia".

Surrounded by forests and snowy mountains, the lake is memersembahkan an extraordinary beauty. In winter, the lake water freezes into ice is very thick, even the Trans-Siberian train could travel across the surface of the lake is as deep as 40 meters.
